Password Vault

A personal Password Vault encrypted on your device.

Save logins, secure notes, API credentials, recovery codes and custom fields. Item titles, tags and values are encrypted before they reach Magpie, using a vault password separate from your account password.

Password Vault locked, asking for the vault password before anything is decrypted.

Your vault password protects the contents.

Setup provides a one-time recovery key as the other way to open your vault. Magpie cannot recover your vault password or recovery key. Keep the recovery key if you need to reset a forgotten vault password.

Records you can keep

Logins
Save a username, password and site address together, and generate a password when you need a new one.
Secure notes
Keep private text that is not tied to a login.
API credentials
Store service keys as a distinct record type.
Recovery codes
Keep account recovery codes in the vault.
Custom items
Add your own fields and conceal values that should stay hidden.

Tags, favorites and private search

Give items several tags, mark favorites, or move them to Trash and restore them later. Search runs against decrypted items on your device; the search text is not sent to Magpie.

Recovery, import and access

Can a team share one vault?

No. Password Vault belongs to your account, including when you switch teams. The website and native app open the same Personal vault.

Can I bring in existing passwords or export them?

Import a CSV from Google/Chrome Password Manager, Bitwarden, 1Password or a generic export. The website reads the CSV in your browser and lets you review rows before saving. Export downloads an encrypted .magpievault backup, not plaintext passwords.

When does an unlocked vault lock?

Website tabs lock after 15 minutes without activity by default; choose 5, 15 or 30 minutes, or one hour. A new tab starts locked. The native app keeps unlocked keys in memory until you lock the vault, sign out or close the app process; it does not use the website’s inactivity timer.
