QR Codes

Static content or a dynamic website destination

A static code stores the content directly and works without Magpie. Changing that content requires a new code. A dynamic website code uses a permanent Magpie redirect: update its destination or turn it off without replacing printed copies. Dynamic codes record aggregate scan counts, without visitor details.

Content, appearance and scanning

Content types
Create text, Wi-Fi, vCard contact, email, phone, SMS and calendar-event codes, as well as website codes.
Export options
Set colours, size, clear space and error correction. Adding a logo selects the highest error correction. Download PNG, SVG or a PDF with readable content.
Scanner
Scan with a camera or read an uploaded image. Magpie displays the decoded content before you open a website, share a contact card or take another action.

Saved codes and dynamic links

Can codes be shared within a team?

Saved codes belong to the selected Personal or team context. Team permissions control who can edit them. Wi-Fi codes contain the network password, so consider who has access before saving one.

Which codes can be dynamic?

Only website codes. Dynamic codes must be saved before downloading, and they depend on their Magpie redirect address remaining available.
